With The Glenlivet Caskmakers, Masters of their craft have come together to take the whisky experience to a new level: perfectly crafting two casks into one, a new feat of caskmaking. A truly original cask, for a taste borne of the highest craft and worthy of the quality of The Glenlivet Single Malt Whisky.
Created in collaboration of our cask experts in Speyside, the master coopers in Jerez, Spain have hand selected the finest ex-Spanish sherry and freshly charred European Oak casks; these casks were deconstructed and intricately re-crafted – alternating stave by stave – to create a new, reconstructed cask.
A portion of the whisky is then selectively finished in our reconstructed casks, bringing new depths to the interplay of flavours. Notes of ripe orchard fruits, fresh honey, warming spices and hints of charred pineapple combine, resulting in not only a true testament to the art of originality, but also the craft of collaboration.
Ripe pears and honey complement warm cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg spice.
Sweet plums and rich dried fruits balanced with charred pineapple, toasted oak spice and a hint of bonfire smoke.
